YEA Challenge 2007

Background

The YEA JEF DIGICEL Business ‘YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS CHALLENGE 2007’ seeks to recognize and celebrate those young entrepreneurs who have achieved success in spite of the odds, truly exemplifying the spirit of entrepreneurship in Jamaica. The competition is aimed at igniting that spirit of entrepreneurship specifically among our youth involved in the SME business sector.
 

We strongly believe that this initiative will cultivate a spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship and will bring together entrepreneurial minded individuals for the purpose of fostering business development in Jamaica. The Young Entrepreneurs Awards Gala will culminate this competition and will seek to highlight those individuals who have captured the entrepreneurial acknowledging their hard work and recognizing their many accomplishments.

 

Who May Enter?

An owner-manager who is responsible for the recent performance of a registered business that is not less than one year and not older than five years old as at September 1, 2007

The award nominee's business should have an annual turnover in excess of J$1 million per annum

The award nominee should be between the ages of 18 and 35 years old. If a partnership, each partner should be between the ages of 18 and 35 years old. Only two partners may represent the business at the interview stage.

The competition is open to all entrepreneurs who actively own and manage a registered business situated in Jamaica.
